Welcome to the 2023 Georgia Governor's Tourism Conference

The Golden Isles is so excited to welcome everyone to this year's Georgia Governor's Tourism Conference, which will be held September 11-13 at the Jekyll Island Convention Center. View the full conference agenda here.

Top Golden Isles Experiences

1. Visit the Georgia Sea Turtle Center

A trip to Jekyll Island is not complete without a visit to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. Explore the lives of sea turtles and other native animals through daily education programs and gallery exhibits. Glimpse into the hospital where sea turtles are treated, see turtle patients in the rehabilitation pavilion, and learn how the center's research is helping sea turtles in Georgia and throughout the world!

2. Take a Trip to Driftwood Beach

Another must-visit destination on Jekyll Island is Driftwood Beach. The beach and its iconic driftwood formed as a result of decades of erosion. What was once a maritime forest is now a sandy shore lined with weathered tree trunks and branches, creating a sight that's truly unique to the Golden Isles. Driftwood Beach is ideal for a sunny afternoon, a morning picnic, and even stargazing late at night.
