Art Workshop: Chris Groves "Spatial Design Between Genres"

(A 6-week series every other Monday 9-11 am)

All subjects are welcome as we explore spatial design including the two main types of pictorial space within the genres of realism and abstraction. Starting by placing lines, shapes, and color on the flat, two-dimensional space of the canvas, then manipulating the interaction and tension of these artistic elements, the artist will be able to understand, visualize, and create pictorial space in their paintings.  Secondly we will explore, develop, and enhance our paintings with the influences of the overall illusion of thee-dimensional space which is also suggested by those shapes, colors and lines.

Demos and lectures will be focused on the shapes, lines and color of landscape and still life subject.
