Independence Day Celebration

Details

Celebrate the Independence Day holiday on Jekyll Island. This year, we've expanded the festivities, so bring your friends and family and participate in all of Jekyll Island's patriotic fun.

July 1 | 8:30 p.m. | Swim-In Movie at Summer Waves Water Park

Grab an inner tube and watch The Little Mermaid from the wave pool. This evening of cinematic fun is a great way to stay cool on a hot summer night! Free movie with the purchase of a Night Splash ticket, $15 + tax.

July 3 | After sunset, around 9 p.m. | Fireworks | Island's east side

Witness the most spectacular fireworks in the Golden Isles. Arrive early to get your spot in the sand. Fireworks are best viewed from the beach between the Holiday Inn Resort and south to the Days Inn on the island's oceanfront side. Fireworks will begin around 9 p.m. when the sky offers the best background for this incredible pyrotechnic display.

July 4 | 9 a.m. | Independence Day Parade | National Historic Landmark District

Celebrate America's birthday with an old-fashioned patriotic parade through the Historic District. Local residents and island guests are invited to decorate their bikes, golf carts, strollers, pets, and themselves and join in the fun. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the parade.

July 4 | noon-6 p.m. | Red, White & Bounce Beach Village

Join us for a fun-filled day of waterslides, bounce houses, sidewalk sales and live music on the Village Green.

July 7 | 5:30 p.m. | Beach Village Music Series

New for 2018, enjoy the sounds of summer during the Beach Village Music Series. Held the first Saturday of the month, June-September, the Village Green will come alive with an eclectic mix of musical acts. Sing along, cut a rug, or simply enjoy these talented artists while you shop or dine in the Beach Village. Bring a beach blanket or chair and you'll have the best seat in the house. On July 7, enjoy a special patriotic version of the Beach Village Music Series, featuring the Jacksonville Jaguars D-Line.

Admission for most Independence Day activities is free. However, an increased gate fee of $10 for daily passes will be in effect Tuesday, July 3. For more information, visit the Jekyll Island website
