Labor Day Festival

The City of Brunswick in partnership with the Brunswick DDA has brought together some of the top 2020 events-to-be into one big celebration on Sunday, September 6th.

From 5 PM to 8:30 PM, we’ll be wrapping up the warm weather fun with food trucks, crafts, and fireworks during this event on our favorite Mary Ross Park lawn. We will also host the Shrimp Drop art contest for the 2021 Shrimp Drop. At 6 PM, we have singer/songwriter Micah Bonn for a two-hour set for the second to last Rhythm on the River event for the year.

For the Shrimp Drop, we will be voting on the official Shrimp to be used for the 2021 New Year’s Eve Celebration. For many years, downtown Brunswick celebrated New Years with the affectionately named Bob the Shrimp as he landed into a bowl of “cocktail sauce.” We hope to bring back that tradition and incorporate artists of all ages to design the posters for the upcoming event. If you’re interested in participating, click here for the official application.

At 8:10 PM we will begin the rescheduled 4th of July fireworks, right after the winner announcement for the Shrimp Drop.

Come join us for fantastic locally made crafts, fresh food, and great music as we light up the night sky Sunday, September 6th, the day before Labor Day. Are you a craft or food vendor? Apply here!
