Rust and Dust Art Exhibit

Details

"Rust and Dust," a metal, clay and water media collaboration featuring the works of siblings Ann Marie Dalis and Bob Bernard, opens July 1 and runs through Aug. 9 at the Goodyear Cottage on Jekyll Island. The exhibit is free and open to the public. An artists' reception will be held July 8, from 1 - 3 p.m., with refreshments served.

Bernard, an ironwork artist and Savannah resident, provides the Rust in the form of furniture, gates and decorative wall and sculptural pieces. Dalis – the Dust in the brother-sister combination – is a potter, watercolorist, acrylic painter and multi-media artist who lives on Saint Simons Island.

Dalis and Bernard grew up in Augusta. Art was an early calling for Ann Marie. Bob took a little detour before finding his way to the art world.
Ann Marie graduated from the University of Georgia, where she was an art major. She continues to hone her art skills and experiment with combinations of ideas and media. Surface decoration on pottery pays homage to her love of drawing, which reflect memories of the whimsical and the realistic images of nature.
