The 13th Annual Big Photo Show is a very special photography exhibit showcasing works by members of The Coastal Photographers Guild (CPG). It’s a highly anticipated event as photographers of varying styles and experiences whisk viewers away with their compelling photos.

The images explore a broad range of individual member interpretations in four categories: Nature, People, Landscape, and Open. The works are united by their high quality and ability to move viewers when they contemplate the meaning of each photograph.

The photos are judged by a panel of professionals. This year they are Mike Force, Chris Moncas, and Beckie Manley. Awards are given in two Divisions: Aspiring (new or occasional) and Experienced Photographer.

VIRTUAL AWARDS CEREMONY: Thursday, July 15, 7:00 pm. We will also live-stream it as a Facebook Live event.

The public may vote for the Duke Smith People’s Choice Award beginning June 29. Voting will end on July 14. This award is given in memory of Duke Smith, an avid photographer and beloved member of the Coastal Photographers Guild who we lost last year.

Previous exhibits allowed in-person viewing at the Glynn Visual Arts Gallery, 106 Island Drive, St Simons Island, Georgia but the COVID-19 pandemic disruption in 2020 changed that. Gallery visits are still possible, virtual visits are now an important element of our presentation.

VIRTUAL VIEWING: A slideshow of the entries will be made available on the Guild’s website on June 29. The slideshow will also be made available on the Coastal Photographers Guild’s Facebook page, and at www.glynnvisualarts.org. For details about viewing the exhibit, voting and other information go to the Coastal Photographers Guild website at: www.coastalphotographersguild.com
