Tree Identification Hike - World Ranger Day

Details

Hofwyl-Broadfield is known mainly for its live oak trees, but dozens of different species of trees and shrubs can be found on the property. Can you tell the difference between a live oak and laurel oak? How about the difference between a magnolia and a holly? Join us for a ranger guided hike focused on tree identification and learn more about these native species.

Participants can also earn Georgia State Parks Jr. Ranger patches for taking part. The program is offered in conjunction with World Ranger Day to commemorate Park and Wildlife Rangers killed or injured in the line of duty and to celebrate the work Rangers do to protect the planet’s natural treasures and cultural heritage.

Walk will be about 1 mile in length. Bring water and insect repellant. Wear shoes comfortable for walking.
