Here is our favorite way to spend a weekend on Sea Island for a second-to-none retreat:

Where to Stay

Since Sea Island is a private island, selecting your lodging and accommodations is an important first step in your planning. Keep in mind that the resort's amenities and activities are available to guests of the resort and its members.

With four incredible accommodations options, including beachfront cottages, there are plenty of settings from which to choose.

The Cloister at Sea Island

The Cloister

Broadfield Sporting Club & Lodge

The Broadfield Sporting Club & Lodge is a unique, 5,800-acre sporting club that offers activities such as hunting, shooting, falconry, fishing and more. Five miles of private beaches are the hallmark of Sea Island, GA

Day 1: Relax in Paradise

Travelling can take a lot out of you, no matter how close or far you’re coming from. Our solution? A relaxing retreat.

Morning: Tour the Beach

Our favorite way to wake up on Sea Island is to take a stroll along the beach in the early morning. Bring a cup of coffee, and watch the sunrise over the ocean. Head back to your hotel for a nice breakfast before coming back out to the beach for some peaceful reading, sunbathing, swimming or participation in various water sports.

Brought the kids? Relaxation isn’t as far away as you think. Sea Island offers supervised children’s programs and teen activities to give the kids a break from their parents, just for days like these!

Afternoon: Relax at the Spa

Sea Island offers an award-winning, 65,000-square-foot Forbes Five-Star Spa. Schedule a day of treatments: a custom Swedish massage, a Balinese massage or a classic hot stone massage; a body polish treatment, an exfoliating skin treatment or a cooling and calming wrap; a custom European facial, a collagen-boosting treatment or a firming and lifting facial.

When you have finished your spa experience, relax in one of the spa pools until you are ready to meet back up with your family.

Evening: Dinner at the Georgian Room

Another one of Sea Island’s can’t-miss experiences is the famous Georgian Room, however it is only open to resort guests. Dine amidst grand décor including gold and crystal chandeliers and an impressive fireplace with a sculpted stone mantel.

Savor refined and indulgent Southern cuisine including popular dishes such as diver scallops, Wagyu beef tenderloin, and the 6-course Chef's tasting menu. One thing is for sure: you will never find an experience quite like this anywhere else.

Horseback Riding

Day 2: Embark on an Adventure

A trip to the Georgia coast wouldn’t be complete without some once-in-a-lifetime adventures! And with seemingly endless opportunities for adventure on Sea Island, you won’t be at a loss for ways to complete your weekend escape.

Morning: Take a Swing

A stay on Sea Island almost demands a morning spent playing 18 holes. Rise early, grab breakfast at your hotel and choose one of three Sea Island Golf Club championship courses.

Play where the pros play, (more than two dozen live and/or train right here), on Seaside and Plantation, site of the PGA TOUR's RSM Classic, or take a swing at the Retreat Course, redesigned by Sea Island Touring Professional Davis Love III and his brother, Mark Love.

Afternoon: A New Perspective

Sea Island provides incredible opportunities for guests to uniquely immerse themselves in nature. Whether you prefer touring the ocean by sailboat or paddling your kayak through the marsh, there are plenty of opportunities to see the island from the sea.

Looking to stay dry? Spend your morning on a naturalist-led walk on the beach, a bike tour or even a marsh walk instead. During turtle season, check out the dawn turtle patrolLearn more.

Evening: Ride Off into the Sunset

Arrange for an evening horseback ride along the beach with the whole family for a unique Golden Isles experience. Tour Sea Island's beach, explore maritime forests and get up close and personal with nature as the sun goes down.
