Summer is in the air and soon the sounds of many summer music series will be as well. Each summer, visitors and residence alike, enjoy open air concerts on waterfront parks and lawns throughout the Golden Isles.
Rhythm on the River is a fairly new music series located in downtown Brunswick at Queen Square on the corner of Newcastle and Mansfield Streets. This music series is typically on either the third or fourth weekend of each summer month. Bring the kids, chairs, blankets, a picnic and your favorite beverage. Sit back, relax and enjoy the tunes. The Traveling Riverside Band will kick off the season opener on April 22nd from 6-8pm.
Jazz in the Park is put on by the Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association (GIAHA), bringing five great concerts by the best local and regional jazz musicians each summer, beginning Memorial Day weekend and lasting into September. Planned for high tide evenings, for maximum breeze and comfort, the concerts bring listeners to beautiful Neptune Park at the edge of the ocean on St. Simons Island for one of the most pleasant and entertaining evenings you can spend in the Golden Isles. The first concert is on May 27th with The Phil Morrison Trio featuring local musician Michael Hulett.
A Little Light Music is a unique experience held on the oceanfront lawns of the Historic St. Simons Island Lighthouse. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring picnics, lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy performances on select Sunday evenings from April until September. The 2012 season begins on May 6th with The Stingrays.
