Mackay River Fishing Pier & Launch

The Mackay River Fishing Pier is on the south side of the Torras Causeway just before the Morningstar Marina.  You can access this pier from either side of the Mackay River when traveling east from the mainland towards St. Simons Island but, you can only access this pier for fishing from the Morningstar Marina entrance if traveling west from St. Simons Island towards the mainland, Brunswick. If accessing the pier from the marina you can also access the Mackay River boat launch and dock.

The Mackay River boat launch and dock provide water access to the Mackay River. There is ample parking in the lot or shaded parking underneath the Torras Causeway. This is a great water access point to kayak around Lanier Island (about three miles) or boat to the north exploring Mackay and Frederica Rivers. The Mackay River is part of the Intracoastal Waterway so watch out for boating traffic.
