For almost 20 years, the Cassina Garden Club has hosted the annual Garden Walk Tour that takes place on St. Simons Island. The Cassina Garden Club’s mission is to promote the love of history, gardening and horticulture, and they do just that in this ticketed event by offering a tour of magnificent private gardens. Guests can tour a variety of large scale, elaborate gardens designed by professionals to small, delicate backyards gardens tended by the owners.
This year’s Garden Walk showcases a thoughtfully curated selection of springtime gardens throughout St. Simons Island – from north to south and everywhere in between. Frederica Township, East Beach, Brockington and Old Demere are included in the tour. Bonus stops include refreshments at Restoration Imports and a lovely Meditation Garden at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church. The Cassina Gardens are your beginning and ending point and offer three unique garden rooms: a historical quadrant of native plantings, a contemplative area and a monarch butterfly station. The Tabby Cabins will be open for docent tours during the day. At 3:00 join the Garden Party Celebration at the cabins featuring Annie Akins!
