A Perfect Weekend in Brunswick

Spend the perfect weekend in the historic port city of Brunswick. Known as the gateway to the Golden Isles, Brunswick is not only a great central location for those wanting to island hop but a vibrant town holding its own attractions and charm. Use this as your guide to an enjoyable weekend trip.

Friday

Evening

Arrive in Downtown Brunswick on Friday evening to the Kress, a boutique hotel that opened in 2023 after the original hotel built in 1909 was revitalized. This hotel gives guests a resort experiment with elements of southern hospitality and is located in the heart of the town.

If you plan your trip during the first week of the month, head to First Friday, a monthly event located just outside Kress Hotel where the shops and restaurants in Downtown Brunswick have extended hours, with food trucks, live music, special deals, a car show, and more. This is an excellent way to kick off the weekend and make some new friends along the way.

Otherwise, head to 1509, the rooftop restaurant located on top of Kress Hotel-and Brunswick’s only rooftop restaurant-and enjoy a delicious meal ranging from seafood and steaks to pasta and salad.

End the evening by heading over to Mary Ross Waterfront Park, where the shrimp boats make the perfect backdrop for the setting sun.
