Known for its abundance of history and culture, along with folklore, legends and tales of ghosts, there is no better place to be in the month of October than the Golden Isles. From ghost walks to horror-filled tours, and Halloween family fun, everybody will be able to find something “spooktacular” to do in our beautiful coastal community this October.

Ghosts & Legends of Hofwyl-Broadfield

The Ghosts & Legends Tour at Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation is an entertaining walking tour filled with tales of terror, mystery, and fright. Learn about the plantations very spirited history as you are guided through the dark under the live oak trees by your very own tour guide. Hear the eerie stories of five generations of owners and the rice fields rich but tragic past.

The tours take place on Friday nights at 6:30 p.m. beginning October 14th through October 28th. Tickets are $20 and more information can be found below.

Trolley Ghost Tours on St. Simons Island

Take a frightening step back into history with Lighthouse Trolleys when you embark on a trolley tour visiting sites of authentic island history and ghostly stories. Hear the legends of Mary, the Wanderer, our most famous island ghost. Learn about those who have lived and died here, and possibly encounter those who never left…

Tours occur on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the months of September and October. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children.

Gilded Age Ghosts and Ghouls

The Jekyll Island Club’s past comes alive on this fun after-dark experience with ghoulish and ghostly stories! Gilded Age Ghosts and Ghouls begins at the Jekyll Island Mosaic Museum, where you’ll learn about the Gilded Age traditions of All Hallow’s Eve and pick up some seasonal treats. You’ll then make your way by trolley to one of the island’s historic homes, while hearing real paranormal experiences of staff members and some of the island’s ghastlier tales.

Ghouls Just Want to Have Fun

The Annual "Ghouls Just Want to Have Fun" Luncheon on October 21st is the perfect opportunity to dress up for Halloween and enjoy a fabulous lunch! This event takes place at Golden Isles Olive Oil and reservations are required. Learn more. 

Rocky Horror Party at The Blue Door

This event will feature live music, food, trivia games, and contests! Bring the whole family to Downtown Brunswick for a fun Halloween celebration! The event will take place October 21st. Learn more. 

Pumpkin Painting Party

The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort will host a Pumpkin Painting Party on the lawn outside of The Cottage on Saturday, October 22, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Island locals and visitors are invited to celebrate all things autumn on this afternoon with pumpkin painting, frozen custard treats, yard games, s’mores and special prizes. Celebrate the spooky season with games, activities, an inflatable slide, hotdogs, and more! This free event will take place October 23rd from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Golden Isles Baptist Church. Learn more. 

Fall Festival at St. Simons Presbyterian Church

Head out to St. Simons Presbyterian Church on October 26th for a fun family event with food trucks, bounce hosues, a costume competition, a cakewalk, and so much more! This year, the church will also be collecting food donations to benefit the Sparrow's nest. Learn more.

Trunk or Treat at Blythe Island

You won't want to miss Family Life Church's Trunk or Treat on October 26th! This event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and everyone is invited! Learn more.


The annual Turtleween event will be held on October 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. Celebrate Halloween with a fun turtle twist! Stop in to learn about the iconic habitats and turtles of Jekyll Island. No tricks but a few treats will be included with your general admission. Costumes are welcomed! 

Fall Festival at Pine Ridge Baptist Church

Get your costumes ready and prepare yourself for a fun, free, outdoor fall festival including food, games, prizes, and a hayride! This event takes place October 29th from 10:00 a.m. -to12:00 p.m. and will be packed with excitement! Learn more.

Trunk or Treat at Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Brunswick

Head out to Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Brunswick on October 29th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a spooktacular time! Bring the family in costume to get all treats and no tricks. Don't forget to register for the costume contest for a chance to win prizes. Learn more.

Take a trip to Tipsy McSway's neighborhood bar and grill on October 29th for a 70's, 80's, 90's, and 2000's rock & pop party! There will be a live band featuring Sidetone and costumes are encouraged. Learn more.

Trunk or Treat in Historic Downtown Brunswick

The Downtown Development Authority and First Baptist Brunswick invite you to Trunk or Treat! This event is hosted by the entire community and takes place on Halloween, October 31st from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. along Newcastle Street in downtown Brunswick. Stop by for Halloween trick or treating and a celebration the whole family will enjoy.
