Golden Isles Watersports
Whether you like to be on or under the water, there are plenty of ways to let your dreams set sail.
Kayaking in the Golden Isles is the perfect way for both adults and children to encounter the ecological diversity and stunning beauty of the marshes, inlets, and rivers around the area. Rent a kayak or join experienced outfitters on kayak tours around St. Simons Island, Little St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island, as well as the Altamaha and Satilla Rivers.
Guided tours and public boat launches for self-guided tours are available year-round on St. Simons and Jekyll Islands. On the mainland, Southeast Adventure Outfitters offers a guided tour of the Marshes of Glynn and Blythe Island Regional Park offers a marina and dock for direct access to the South Brunswick River. For a more private experience, Sea Island Resort offers guided kayaking tours for its guests, and Little St. Simons Island provides tours for day-visitors and guests of the Lodge.

The Golden Isles are quickly becoming the go-to destination for stand-up paddleboarding in Georgia. Paddle out to sand bars off the islands’ beaches to cruise some waves, feel the ocean’s force, and take a break—if only for a while. Explore the calmer marsh inlets between the barrier islands and the mainland and discover abundant wildlife around every bend.
Certified scuba divers enjoy the splendor of our underwater world. Situated off the coast of Georgia are many artificial reefs (shipwrecks) to explore. For those who are not certified divers, Island Dive Center offers scuba lessons so you can enjoy the beauty of our coastline beneath the surface.
